The Federal Government has clarified that it has not received any official notice from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) regarding new transit visa requirements for Nigerian nationals.
This clarification comes amid reports of recent visa policy changes by both the UAE and the United States, which have allegedly made international travel more challenging for Nigerians.
In a statement released in Abuja, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, emphasized that all legitimate concerns raised by Nigerian citizens are being addressed through appropriate diplomatic channels, in the spirit of mutual respect and cooperation.
He further reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to safeguarding the rights and dignity of Nigerians abroad. “The administration remains dedicated to securing the best possible outcomes for Nigerians, ensuring they can travel, work, and reside globally with dignity and respect,” Onanuga added.
