The Federal Government has clarified that there are no immediate plans to enforce the 5 per cent Petroleum Products Tax stipulated in the recently enacted tax legislation.
The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, disclosed this during a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday.
The proposed tax has sparked nationwide outrage, with organised labour warning the government to withdraw the provision or risk widespread industrial action.
