The Federal Government has commenced the reconstruction of the collapsed Keffi Flyover in Nasarawa State and is fast-tracking critical road infrastructure projects across the country.
Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, made this known while briefing State House correspondents after Thursday’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, which was presided over by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Describing the July 4 collapse of the flyover as “very unfortunate,” Umahi confirmed that the government has reached a settlement with the families of the three individuals who lost their lives in the incident.
In response to safety concerns, Umahi disclosed that one carriageway of the affected route has been closed for urgent repairs, following a structural assessment aimed at preventing further hazards.
He further revealed that the FEC has approved funding and project reviews for several major roads and bridges across the nation, as part of the administration’s renewed commitment to infrastructure development.
