The Edo State Government hereby notifies the general public that His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State, has approved the nomination of the following individuals as Commissioner-Designates for Edo State:
- Dr. Elizabeth Ebosele
- Hon. Christopher Ewere Okaeben
- Rt. Hon. Festus Odianosen Ebea, JP
Dr. Elizabeth Ebosele
Dr. Elizabeth Onome Ebosele is a development economist, public policy expert, and humanitarian with proven expertise in budgeting, planning, and governance. A graduate of the University of Benin with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, she has served as Technical Adviser on Budget and National Planning at the Federal level. She was a member of the Technical Working Group on “Cross-cutting Issues (Employment, Gender and People with Special Needs)” for the Medium-Term National Development Plan (2021–2025). Dr. Ebosele also has experience in project financing, renewable energy transitions, ICT, and grassroots development, and is recognised for her commitment to evidence-based policymaking and inclusive governance.
Hon. Christopher Ewere Okaeben
Hon. Christopher Ewere Okaeben is an accomplished public servant and legislator. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Banking and Finance from the University of Benin. His public service record includes positions as Supervisory Councillor (Works & Transport), Oredo Local Government, Senior Special Assistant on Youth Employment, Secretary to Oredo Council, Executive Director, Edo State Petroleum Monitoring Committee, and Commissioner for Youth & Sports. From 2015 to 2023, he represented Oredo West Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, where he chaired several key committees, including those on Health, Women’s Affairs, and Energy & Water Resources. He is also engaged in private enterprise and community development initiatives.
Rt. Hon. Festus Odianosen Ebea, JP
Rt. Hon. Festus Odianosen Ebea is a distinguished legislator and political leader. He is a former Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, where he represented Esan South East Constituency. He has contributed significantly to grassroots development, legislative reforms, and governance advocacy in the State. Holder of the traditional title Obarisiagbon of Ubiaja, he has been active in Edo politics for over a decade. A Justice of the Peace (JP) and community mobiliser, he is noted for his dedication to inclusive governance, democratic development, and youth empowerment.
The nominations of the above-named individuals have been duly approved by the Governor and will be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for legislative consideration and confirmation.
