The Edo State Government has issued a stern warning to individuals and groups involved in illegal land transactions, encroachments, and speculative activities on Lot A of the Obagie Acquisition area, popularly known as Coral City, in Benin City.
In a statement released by the government, authorities condemned the continued unlawful sale, purchase, and development of lands within the designated government property. The statement emphasized that Lot A (Coral City) remains the exclusive property of the Edo State Government, and any unauthorized dealings in the area are illegal.
According to the government, while the Obagie Acquisition belongs entirely to the state, efforts are currently underway to return Lots B, C, and D to their rightful owners and occupants. This move is in line with Governor Monday Okpebholo’s commitment to regularize property ownership and ensure fairness in land administration across the state.
The government further warned that this announcement serves as a final notice to all land grabbers, encroachers, and speculators to vacate the area immediately. Any illegal structures erected within Lot A will be demolished, and those involved in such activities will face prosecution in accordance with the law.
The statement reaffirmed the state government’s resolve to protect its lands and maintain order in land administration, cautioning the public to verify all land transactions through appropriate government channels before purchase.
