The Edo State Government wishes to inform the general public that His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State, has approved the establishment of the Ecological Funding and Management Commission to provide a legal and institutional framework for promoting sustainable environmental management in Edo State.
This landmark initiative will ensure transparent and accountable mobilization and utilization of ecological resources, enhance coordination among stakeholders, align state efforts with national and international environmental commitments, and advance ecological sustainability, climate resilience, biodiversity conservation, and environmental justice.
In line with this vision, His Excellency has also approved the appointment of the following individuals to pioneer the affairs of the Commission:
- Dr. Blessing Agbomhere, Esq. – Executive Chairman
- Felix Ibhade – Executive Director (Projects)
- Ivie Uwaifo – Executive Director (Administration)
- Khadijat Yusuf – Executive Director (Finance)
Their names will be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation.
This decisive step underscores the Government’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the environment for present and future generations, while positioning Edo State as a leader in climate action and sustainable development.
