Edo State Establishes Lottery Regulatory Commission

The Edo State Government announces that His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State, has approved the establishment of the Edo State Lottery Regulatory Commission.

The Commission will serve as the central regulatory authority for all lottery, gaming, and related activities within the State. Its key objectives include:

  • Providing a legal and institutional framework for lottery and gaming operations.
  • Ensuring transparency, accountability, and integrity in the conduct of lottery activities.
  • Safeguarding participants and the general public through fair play and responsible gaming standards.
  • Generating revenue for the State via structured licensing and regulation of gaming operators.

To pioneer the Commission’s affairs, His Excellency has approved the appointment of the following nominees:

  1. Rt. Hon. Frank Okiye – Chairman
  2. Dandy Imoukhuede Oserei – Member
  3. Elvis Uadiale – Member
  4. Ndidi Aghimien – Member
  5. Hon. Habibat Yakubu – Secretary

The list of nominees has been forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation.

This initiative underscores the Government’s commitment to building a well-regulated gaming industry that protects consumers, boosts investor confidence, and contributes to the socio-economic growth of Edo State.
