The Edo State Sports Commission has extended hearty congratulations to Bolade Bezi for setting a new Guinness World Record in E-Sports after completing an astonishing 57-hour, 10-minute, and 5-second gaming marathon playing God of War.
The historic achievement was officially recognized during a ceremony at the Media Centre of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium. Honorable Desmond Enabulele, Executive Chairman of the Commission, applauded Bezi’s extraordinary resilience, describing her feat as a groundbreaking milestone for the Nigerian E-Sports community.

In a statement released through his Media Officer, Wilson Edoko, Enabulele emphasized that Bezi shattered the previous record of 24 hours and 15 minutes—set by Peer Bresser and Jimmie Smets in Germany in 2017. He praised her unwavering determination, focus, and passion, adding that her success firmly places Edo State on the global E-Sports map.
Enabulele also described Bezi’s accomplishment as a source of pride for both Edo State and Nigeria, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to promoting E-Sports as a powerful tool for youth development and social transformation.
Bolade Bezi, who is also a clinical physiologist, revealed that her primary motivation for the marathon was to raise awareness around mental health issues, particularly depression and anxiety. She expressed deep gratitude to Honorable Enabulele and the Edo E-Sports Association, led by Ovebedaro Bezi, for their unwavering support throughout her record-breaking journey.
