Edo Sports Chairman Welcomes Athletes to Ardova Handball League, Reaffirms Support for Youth Development

The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Desmond Enabulele, paid a visit to the ongoing first phase of the 2025 Ardova PLC Handball Premier League, currently taking place at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

In a statement released by his media officer, Wilson Edoko, Hon. Enabulele warmly welcomed athletes and teams from across the country to Benin City, proudly describing the state as the worthy host of this premier competition.

He noted that Edo State has recently emerged as a leading hub for sports, successfully hosting several major tournaments — including the recently concluded EKUS Judo Championship and now the Ardova Handball League.

“These events reflect Governor Monday Okpebholo’s commitment to sports development and youth empowerment,” he said, adding that the state’s investment in infrastructure and grassroots programs continues to attract national attention.

Hon. Enabulele applauded the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) for its tireless efforts in growing the sport and reaffirmed Edo State’s unwavering support for initiatives that nurture young talent and promote healthy competition.
