The Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chief Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku, has directed the Member representing Egor Constituency, Hon. Natasha Osawaru, to appear before the House Committee on Ethics and Privileges within one week.
The summons comes in response to a viral video linked to the lawmaker, which the Speaker said has brought embarrassment to the 8th Assembly. He issued the directive during Tuesday’s plenary session, mandating the Committee to investigate the incident and present its findings within two weeks.
In another development, the Assembly acknowledged receipt of a letter from the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), seeking a rescheduling of its earlier invitation by the House. FERMA requested a new appearance date in mid-January 2026.
Also at the plenary, lawmakers considered two bills for second reading:
- A bill seeking to amend the Edo State Lottery Law, establish the Edo State Lottery Regulation Commission and the Edo State Lottery Trust Fund, and address related matters (2025).
- A bill proposing the establishment of the Edo State Emergency Management Agency and outlining its functions.
The House thereafter adjourned sitting to Monday, December 8, 2025.
