Edo Governor Okpebholo Consoles Kogi Governor, APC National Chairman Over Parents’ Demise

The Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has extended his condolences to two prominent leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the loss of their parents.

In a statement on behalf of the government and people of Edo State, Governor Okpebholo commiserated with Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo, on the passing of his father, Late Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, and also with the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, over the death of his mother, Mama Lydia Yilwatda.

Governor Okpebholo described the loss of a parent as “one of life’s deepest sorrows,” while urging both leaders to take solace in the noble legacies their parents left behind — lives marked by faith, service, discipline, and devotion to family and community.

He prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed, asking Almighty Allah to grant Late Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo Al-Jannah Firdaus, and committing Mama Lydia Yilwatda to God’s eternal rest.

The governor further prayed for divine comfort, strength, and fortitude for the Ododo and Yilwatda families in bearing the irreparable loss.

“May their memories remain a blessing, and their legacies continue to inspire generations to come,” he added.
