Edo State Deputy Governor, Dennis Idahosa, has congratulated Nigerians on the nation’s 65th independence anniversary, urging citizens to see the celebration not only as a symbol of freedom but also as a call to duty.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Friday Aghedo, Idahosa described October 1st as a reminder of the courage, sacrifices, and vision of Nigeria’s founding fathers who laid the groundwork for a united and prosperous nation.
He acknowledged the challenges Nigeria has faced over the decades but commended the resilience, creativity, and determination of its people—qualities he said must be harnessed to build a stronger nation.
Idahosa further called on Nigerians to remain committed to peace, justice, and the collective good of the country. He praised Edo people for their steadfast support of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s vision for inclusive growth and pledged the administration’s continued commitment to improving citizens’ quality of life through people-centered policies and programmes.
While praying for God’s blessings upon the country, the deputy governor urged Nigerians to reflect on the nation’s journey so far and renew their dedication to patriotism, integrity, and service to humanity.
