The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended Hon. Valentine Asuen over allegations of conduct deemed harmful to the unity and stability of the party.
In a statement issued by the State Publicity Secretary, Barr. Peter Uwadiae Igbinigie, the APC accused Asuen of engaging in actions that violated the party’s constitution and promoted division among members. His suspension was carried out under Article 21 of the APC Constitution (2022, as amended), which prescribes disciplinary measures for members whose behaviour threatens party cohesion.
Reiterating its commitment to discipline and internal democracy, the Edo APC stressed that it would not condone acts capable of destabilizing the party or creating disaffection among its members.
The party also dismissed speculations that its State Secretary, Lawrence Okah, had influenced political appointments. According to the statement, all appointments made by Governor Monday Okpebholo were fairly distributed across Edo State, including Oredo Local Government.
The APC urged members to remain united and focused, while reaffirming its resolve to promote good governance and deliver democratic dividends to the people of Edo State.
