On-Air Personality Dotun has come to the defense of singer Adekunle Gold, urging Nigerians to stop attacking him over controversial old tweets made by his wife, singer Simi.
The tweets, which resurfaced in February, drew widespread criticism as they appeared to reference interactions with young boys. At the time, Simi, then 23 and working in her mother’s daycare, had posted about a four-year-old boy wanting to “french kiss” her and a 16-year-old boy making her legs go weak. Many Nigerians accused her of sexualizing minors and called for legal action. Simi later defended herself, saying the posts were harmless and lacked any evil intent.
Despite her explanation, some Nigerians have continued to criticize both Simi and Adekunle Gold. Dotun, however, insists that the singer should not be targeted, stressing that Adekunle had no involvement in creating the tweets and should be left out of the public backlash.
