Deadly Floods in Northern China Claim Over 30 Lives, Displace Thousands

At least 30 people have been confirmed dead in Beijing following days of relentless rainfall and severe flooding across northern China. In Hebei province, authorities have reported an additional eight fatalities, while many families have been forced to abandon their homes.

Emergency crews are actively searching for missing individuals as floodwaters continue to pose a serious threat. Weather officials in Beijing have issued fresh warnings, predicting more rainfall today and urging residents to remain vigilant and prioritize safety.

In response to the crisis, approximately 80,000 people have been evacuated from various parts of the capital to safer locations. Volunteers are assisting with food distribution and essential supplies in relocation centers.

President Xi Jinping, addressing the nation on Monday, called for intensified rescue operations, emphasizing that saving lives must be the top priority.
