Businesswoman Accuses David Umahi of Sexual Harassment, ₦304m Debt

A businesswoman, Mrs. Tracyniter Nicholas Ohiri, has accused the Minister of Works, David Umahi, of sexual harassment, intimidation and refusal to pay for campaign promotional materials she claims to have supplied.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, Ohiri alleged that her business relationship with the minister began before his election as Governor of Ebonyi State. According to her, she was contracted to produce corporate gift items for campaign purposes after submitting proposals and quotations.

She said that although she requested mobilisation funds to execute the project, she was allegedly encouraged to proceed without upfront payment. Ohiri claimed she financed the production using personal savings and loans, including funds meant for her children’s school fees.

The businesswoman further alleged that during a visit to Ebonyi State for business discussions, Umahi entered her hotel room wearing only a towel and made advances toward her. She said she immediately left the room and sought refuge with a hotel staff member, where she spent the night.

Ohiri also accused the minister of failing to settle an alleged ₦304 million debt related to the campaign materials.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from the minister regarding the allegations.
