Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has sparked conversation with his unconventional take on marriage, revealing that he would be comfortable in an open relationship.
Speaking on the In My Opinion podcast, the rapper said most couples struggle to maintain the same level of intimacy they enjoyed early in their relationship, suggesting that a bit of freedom could help sustain long-term partnerships.
“I don’t mind having an open marriage,” he said. “Most married couples don’t keep having sex as often as they did at the beginning. It reduces.”
Blaqbonez explained that he sees nothing wrong if his partner seeks sexual satisfaction elsewhere, especially when he’s unavailable due to work or touring — as long as the emotional bond remains strong.
“If somebody is satisfying her sexually while I’m hustling, that’s okay. There’s more to marriage than sex. I don’t mind that you’re sleeping with someone else, provided you’re dedicated to me,” he added.
The rapper further noted that no one could easily replace him in his partner’s life on an emotional or intellectual level.
“They probably can’t make her laugh the way I do,” he joked, adding that if he ever gets married, he’d prefer having separate rooms with his wife — “so we only meet when we want to have intimacy.”
