The Benin Traditional Council has directed TikTok influencer Habeeb Adelaja, popularly known as Peller, to appear before relevant authorities over his unauthorised access to the Oba’s Palace.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the council confirmed that the influencer entered the palace without prior approval, an action it said led to public embarrassment and prompted a formal investigation.
The council noted that Peller has so far failed to honour an earlier directive to appear before its investigative committee.
As part of the conditions for resolution, he has been ordered to submit an unreserved written apology to the Palace for both the unauthorised access and his conduct.
Emphasising the gravity of the incident, the council stated that the palace is not a public space or venue for casual content creation, but the sacred seat of the Oba of Benin, governed by longstanding traditions and protocols.
The council warned that failure to comply with its directive could lead to legal action.
