Arokodare Scores First Wolves Goal as Chukwueze Makes Fulham Debut

Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare opened his account for Wolverhampton Wanderers in style, netting his debut goal as Wolves defeated Everton 2-0 in their EFL Cup clash at the Molineux on Tuesday.

Signed on deadline day from Belgian side Genk, Arokodare started on the bench but was introduced in the 68th minute by head coach Vitor Pereira, replacing Jorgen Strand Larsen. The 23-year-old justified the substitution, sealing the win with Wolves’ second goal in the 88th minute after a fine assist from Joao Gomes.

Meanwhile, fellow Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze made his first appearance for Fulham in their narrow 1-0 victory over Cambridge United at Craven Cottage. The AC Milan loanee, also a deadline-day arrival, replaced Adama Traore in the 60th minute but could not register a goal or assist. Fulham, however, advanced courtesy of Emile Smith-Rowe’s 66th-minute strike.
