APC Endorses Omosede Igbinedion as Candidate for Ovia Federal Constituency Bye-Election

As preparations intensify for the upcoming House of Representatives bye-election in Ovia Federal Constituency, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially endorsed Omosede Igbinedion as its flagbearer.

The endorsement came during a joint peace and strategy meeting held at the council hall in Iguobazuwa. The meeting presided over by Edo State Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa, brought together party leaders, ward representatives, youth leaders, and APC chairmen from both Ovia South-West and Ovia North-East.

Deputy Governor Idahosa, who previously represented the constituency, reaffirmed the APC’s resolve to reclaim and retain the seat. He stressed the need for unity and strong leadership as key factors in ensuring victory at the polls.

According to Idahosa, Omosede’s selection emerged from an internal consensus, reflecting the party’s commitment to inclusive and representative leadership.

Also speaking at the event, APC Chairmen Odewengie Solomon (Ovia North-East) and Emmanuel Ogbomo (Ovia South-West), along with other party stakeholders—including one of the aspirants, Charity Aimayavbo—expressed their support for the party’s decision. They emphasized the importance of solidarity and pledged to work collectively to keep the seat within the APC.

In her response, Omosede Igbinedion thanked the party leadership and members for their trust and support. She affirmed that the seat rightfully belongs to the people of Ovia and pledged to provide inclusive and effective representation.

The highlight of the event was the formal endorsement of Omosede Igbinedion by Deputy Governor Idahosa as the APC candidate for the forthcoming bye-election.
