Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has officially handed in a transfer request to Atalanta, expressing his desire to leave the Serie A club.
According to renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Lookman’s decision comes after Atalanta rejected several offers from Inter Milan. The 26-year-old winger is reportedly frustrated with the club’s refusal to let him make the switch and has now taken steps to force a move.
Romano confirmed the development on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday, stating:
“EXCL: Ademola Lookman has now handed in a transfer request.
The Nigerian forward has officially asked Atalanta to leave the club after Italian side rejected Inter opening bid.
Lookman wants to join Inter.”
Lookman, who enjoyed a successful campaign with Atalanta last season—including a standout performance in their Europa League triumph—has made it clear that Inter is his preferred destination as the new season approaches.
