The Acting Vice Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Professor Olowo Samuel, has announced heightened security measures following the killing of a non-student within the university premises.
Speaking with journalists at the institution’s administrative building, Professor Samuel said the incident forced management to introduce stricter access control. He noted that students and visitors without proper identification will no longer be allowed to drive into the campus.
He further disclosed that the university has deployed armed security personnel, explaining that unruly youths had in the past gained entry with vehicles and intimidated the school’s guards.
According to him, the killing occurred in a bush behind the university, reportedly over a monetary dispute. The matter was immediately reported to the police, who have since arrested some suspects in connection with the case.
