Among those present were Governors Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Ahmed Usman Ododo (Kogi), Hope Uzodinma (Imo), Uba Sani (Kaduna) — Chairman of the Campaign Council — Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), and Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa (Ondo).

The event also drew notable former Ekiti governors, including Ayodele Fayose, Segun Oni, Niyi Adebayo, and Kayode Fayemi, underscoring the broad political significance of the gathering.

Royal Blessings Sought Ahead of Campaign

Prior to the rally, the delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe Aladesanmi III, where they received royal blessings and reaffirmed their commitment to a peaceful election season.

Uzodinma: APC United Behind Oyebanji

Speaking on behalf of the APC Governors’ Forum, Governor Hope Uzodinma described the visit as a strong show of unity and solidarity with Governor Biodun Oyebanji. He expressed confidence in the administration’s performance and stressed that governance achievements should remain central to the campaign.

“We are here in solidarity with one of our own, to encourage the people and reaffirm support for a government that has fostered unity and progress,” he said.

Uzodinma added that Oyebanji’s administration has strengthened political cohesion and improved stability across Ekiti State.

“A Vote for Continuity and Progress”

Reinforcing the party’s position, Uzodinma stated that supporting Oyebanji represents a commitment to continuity, progress, and the shared vision of the APC.

“We are united, and we will campaign together to secure victory through the will of the people.”

He also highlighted achievements in security, infrastructure, and economic management as key indicators of the administration’s impact.

Oyebanji Urges Performance-Based Voting

Governor Biodun Oyebanji, addressing supporters, called on residents to sustain support for ongoing reforms. He linked state-level development efforts to the broader national agenda under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging voters to prioritize results over sentiment.

“This election must be about results, not sentiment,” he said, pointing to tangible progress in infrastructure and governance.

Call for Peaceful, Credible Electoral Process

Other governors at the rally echoed calls for restraint, warning against divisive rhetoric as campaigns intensify. They collectively stressed the importance of maintaining peace and ensuring a credible electoral process focused on measurable development outcomes.

Ekiti 2026 Race Officially Underway

The rally, attended by party leaders, traditional rulers, and supporters from across the state, officially marked the beginning of the Ekiti 2026 governorship race — setting the stage for what is expected to be a competitive and closely watched election.
