The Commander, Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport (CCST), Major General Nansak Shagaya, has commenced a two-day conference aimed at reviewing the operational effectiveness of the Corps in ongoing military operations across the country.

The conference, themed “Optimizing ST Capabilities Towards Providing Effective Service Delivery to Nigerian Army Operations in All Missions,” began on March 24, 2026, at the Muhammadu Buhari Auditorium, located within the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport (NASST) in Benin City, Edo State.

A statement issued by Captain Kennedy Anyanwu on behalf of the Assistant Director, Army Public Relations at NASST, noted that the conference is designed to assess the operational performance of the Corps and strengthen its role in supporting military operations nationwide.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Major General Shagaya described the conference as a critical strategic platform for professional reflection, institutional learning, and collective problem-solving. He explained that the gathering provides commanders with an opportunity to exchange ideas, examine operational realities, evaluate emerging challenges, and collectively chart a path forward for the Corps in a rapidly evolving security environment.

He urged participants to approach the deliberations with intellectual depth, professional candor, and a shared commitment to enhancing the operational effectiveness of the Corps in support of the Nigerian Army.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Commandant of NASST, Major General Adebayo Adegbite, stated that the conference would enable the Commander of the Corps to interact directly with field commanders and senior officers on strategies to actualize the Nigerian Army’s mission in line with his command philosophy.

He added that the event offers a valuable opportunity to share knowledge, address operational challenges, and make meaningful contributions that will enhance efficiency and service delivery within the Corps.

Highlights of the conference include a group photograph session, the commissioning of a new Soldiers’ Dining Hall, the unveiling of a remodeled NASST Driving Simulation Centre, and the inauguration of Col. Taiwo Crescent within the institution.
