My Daughter Was Bullied in School Because of My Fame — Bob-Manuel Udokwu

Veteran Nollywood actor Bob-Manuel Udokwu has opened up about the challenges his children faced while growing up in the shadow of his celebrity status.

Speaking during a chat on WithChude, Udokwu revealed that his daughter was bullied at Queens College Lagos simply because she was his child.

According to the actor, the incident occurred while she was in Junior Secondary School 1. He recounted how senior students would single her out and punish her “for just being (my daughter).”

Reflecting on the experience, Udokwu said that although his daughter now laughs about it, the situation was painful at the time.

“She was in JSS 1. It was not funny,” he said.

The actor explained that he and his wife deliberately chose to enroll their children in public schools to ensure they had a normal upbringing, away from the pressures and distractions that could come with having a famous father.

“I did not want to be in their face so that I do not distract them. We agreed they were going to go to public school, because I also attended public schools,” he stated.

Udokwu’s revelation sheds light on the lesser-seen side of celebrity life, where even children can bear the weight of public attention and fame.
