Award-winning singer Yemi Alade has opened up about a phase in her life when she claimed to be 22 years old for three consecutive years, revealing that she was deeply consumed by her music and largely disconnected from the outside world.
The super songstress explained that when she first entered the music industry, she discovered that many of her colleagues were not particularly friendly. As a result, she chose to keep to herself, working closely only with her team and focusing fully on building her career.
According to Alade, she became so immersed in her music and work that she barely noticed how quickly time was passing. In that period, she said she was quick to tell people she was 22, even though she was actually 25 at the time.
The singer also noted that she does not attend events or parties unless she is officially invited, adding that she keeps a small circle and does not have many friends.
