Building a New Edo: Okpebholo Showcases Massive Road Projects Across Edo South

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, says his administration is steadily building a new Edo where citizens will enjoy good governance, driven by massive infrastructural development to grow and boost the state’s economy.

The governor stated this while speaking to journalists after an inspection tour of several roads and drainage projects across Edo South Senatorial District.

He expressed satisfaction with the level of work so far, particularly on Sapele Road and its surrounding corridors.

According to him, the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is already manifesting in Edo State, as residents begin to enjoy the dividends of democracy.

Governor Okpebholo, accompanied by the Special Adviser on Projects Implementation and Monitoring, Engr. Phoebe Williams-Bello, inspected projects at Evbhukhu, Amagba, Ohoghobi, Oghehe, Old Sapele Road, Sapele Road Bypass, Uhie Road, Okhabere, the flyover bridge at Adesuwa Junction, Charismatic Renewal Road, Ugbiyoko, and Oghede Upper Ekenhuan Road, among others.

The governor has maintained a pattern of unannounced inspection visits, keeping contractors on their toes and ensuring strict compliance with approved designs, standards, and delivery timelines.

“We have gone round inspecting so many projects today, and the jobs are in progress. I am very impressed with the projects monitored so far, especially the ones at Sapele Road. If you visit Sapele Road, you will know that this administration has really worked in that axis,” Okpebholo said.

“Our administration is changing things in Edo State as we experience growth and development across the state.”

At Charismatic Renewal Road, the governor noted visible improvement compared to his previous visit.

“Looking at the Charismatic Renewal Road today, work has greatly improved compared to the last time we came. I am so impressed,” he added.

Reaffirming his commitment, the governor said Edo State now has renewed hope.

“The renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is manifesting here in Edo State, and we are building on it to give Edo people a better and improved life. We have a new Edo — the Edo of our dreams.”

Governor Okpebholo reiterated his pledge to turn Edo State into a construction site and has continued to deliver on that promise through massive road and drainage projects across the three senatorial districts.

His administration, he said, is bringing governance closer to the people by opening up communities, improving connectivity, boosting economic activities, and delivering practical development to the doorsteps of Edo residents.
