The State Government has commence arrangements designed at guaranting the safety of its staff and property across the State.
Speaking at the maiden edition of a safety drill put together by the State Ministry of Public Safety and Security for both public and civil servants in the Ministries, departmemts and agencies, the commissioner , Hon.,Festus Ebea stressed that the excercise was aimed at exposing the workers to modern ways of responding to emergencies occasioned by fire.
The Safety and Security Ministry Commissioner, directed that the emergency exit points in the Secretariate should remain open daily except at the close of the day’s work, then they can be closed.
He opined that Governor, Monday Okpebholo led Government would never compromise on the security and safety of the people.
Officials of the State fire service shortly demonstrated initial aporoach at curbing fire inccident. Equally on ground to lend its voice, were men of the State Red Cross.
In attendance, include, the State commissioner for Transport, HonSaturday Uwulekue as well as Staff in block A, Secretariate building.
The Safety drill is exspected to continue, as other MDA’s will take her turn in the coming days.
