A total of 10,465 students from tertiary institutions across the three senatorial districts of Kogi State have applied for the 2025 Bursary Award organised by the Senator Sunday Steve Karimi Education Foundation in collaboration with the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) Bursary Award.
In a statement released on Saturday by the Central Committee of the programme, registration opened on August 1 and closed at midnight on August 31, 2025.
The committee confirmed that the next stage of the process will be sorting and screening, aimed at ensuring a transparent selection of 3,000 successful applicants as earlier promised by Senator Karimi. The bursary is open to all indigenes of Kogi State studying in public tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
The statement added: “After this stage, the names of successful applicants will be published in due course.”
Applicants and interested parties were urged to follow the DSSK Media Team for updates. The committee further assured that Senator Karimi remains committed to transparency, accountability, and equity in the selection process, ensuring all qualified students are given equal opportunity.
It will be recalled that in July 2025, the Senator Sunday Steve Karimi Education Foundation announced the launch of the bursary scheme. According to the breakdown, 1,390 students from Kogi West, 1,000 students from Kogi East, and 610 students from Kogi Central will benefit under the combined bursary initiatives.
