The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has restated its unwavering commitment to the welfare and morale of frontline personnel, while urging them to remain resolute in safeguarding civilians from bandits and insurgents.
The charge was delivered on September 3, 2025, during the commissioning of new projects at the 4135 Force Protection Wing, Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State. The facilities include Christian and Muslim worship centres, a Mini-Mart, and a Quarter Guard Stand—initiatives aligned with the command philosophy of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, which prioritises personnel welfare as a pillar of operational effectiveness.
Representing the CAS, Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command, Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Yusuf Dari, praised the troops for their professionalism and sacrifices in restoring calm to communities once plagued by terror.
“The communities we protect are safer today because of your efforts,” Dari said, urging personnel to remain vigilant and united. “Our ultimate duty is to shield civilians from harm, build trust with communities, and ensure lasting peace.”
He stressed that unity of purpose and respect for civilian populations are vital enablers of operational success, assuring troops of the CAS’s full support. The newly commissioned projects, he noted, reflect NAF’s resolve to balance combat readiness with the welfare, resilience, and spiritual needs of its personnel.
The commissioning comes days after NAF executed a successful air raid on September 5 against a terrorist enclave in the Sambisa Forest, Borno State, eliminating over 15 terrorists and destroying key insurgent infrastructure.
“The Nigerian Air Force continues to stand as a symbol of vigilance, professionalism, and decisive airpower in defence of national security. Every successful strike brings Nigeria one step closer to lasting peace,” the statement added.
By combining welfare initiatives with sustained operational efforts, the NAF reinforces both its battlefield effectiveness and its bond with the communities it serves.
