The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will commence nationwide on August 18, 2025, in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
According to the commission, the exercise will be held at various ward registration centres across the country, with a total of 811 registration centres listed for the process. The CVR will be conducted in three phases to ensure smooth participation.
INEC disclosed that online pre-registration will open on August 18 through its dedicated portal, while physical, in-person registration will begin on August 25. The physical exercise will take place across all local government area offices and designated registration centres nationwide.
The commission also noted that adequate preparations are being made to address potential logistical challenges during the exercise.
