The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has killed no fewer than 592 terrorists and destroyed 372 assets in a series of airstrikes carried out over the past eight months in the North-East.
Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, disclosed this on Tuesday during a courtesy visit to Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, in Maiduguri.
According to Abubakar, the achievements were made possible through an upgraded fleet and enhanced precision night-strike capabilities, enabling the execution of 798 combat sorties and over 1,500 operational flight hours in the region.
He further revealed that the addition of a newly acquired Mi-35 gunship would boost close-air support for ground troops, further intensifying the fight against insurgency in the North-East.
