Super Falcons to Battle Copper Queens in High-Stakes WAFCON Quarterfinal Rematch

The Super Falcons of Nigeria are set to clash with the Copper Queens of Zambia in the quarterfinals of the ongoing Morocco 2025 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations on Friday.

CAF has described the matchup as a “final before the final,” with both teams considered among the top contenders for the title from the outset of the tournament.

Zambia, who finished second in their group behind hosts Morocco, boast a dangerous attack led by the prolific duo of Barbra Banda and Rachael Kundananji. Their pace, creativity, and finishing ability make them a formidable threat.

This quarterfinal encounter also doubles as a rematch of the 2022 WAFCON third-place playoff, where Zambia narrowly defeated Nigeria 1–0, adding an extra layer of intensity to the highly anticipated showdown.
