Gaza’s civil defence agency has reported that at least 42 people were killed on Sunday following a series of Israeli airstrikes across the Palestinian territory.
Civil defence spokesman Mahmud Bassal said multiple strikes targeted areas around Gaza City, where the Israeli military is preparing a major offensive. One of the deadliest attacks occurred in the Al-Sabra neighbourhood, claiming eight lives.
Bassal added that bombardments were also recorded in other parts of Gaza, with the death toll continuing to rise as rescue teams respond to fresh strikes.
